7’ x 3’ oil paint on clear acrylic panel
The artist paints on top of clear acrylic panel and suspends it several inches above the wall in order to cast shadows.
One small found wooden object is rotated again and again to create a stacked composition. This was the artist’s first foray into single layered paintings on clear panels.
Here they are painted on man-made acrylic panel, using man-made oil paints and mediums, in attention-grabbing bright colors.
Plastic is here to stay, while the piece of wood has the privilege of sinking into decomposition. We have to come to terms with nature's dwindling presence. Nature learns to live with humanity's overwhelming presence.
