2022-present: MS Foundation (also known as MS Focus, non-profit) - Therapeutic arts instructor; designs, implements, and teaches 1-1.5 hour art classes once per week, tailored to the MS community’s needs and abilities; fosters a community of like-minded individuals.
2022-present: AnCan Foundation (formerly Answer Cancer Foundation, non-profit) - Director of therapeutic arts classes & Social Media Coordinator; designs, implements, and teaches 1.5 hour art classes once per month, tailored to AnCan’s community needs and abilities; fosters a community of like-minded individuals; Takes care of all things related to the organization’s social media. Including, but not limited to, engaging in the community, creation of posts from beginning concept to publish, scheduling events & posts, creation of POD merchandise, and more.
2019-present: Hearts Need Art (non-profit) - artist instructor working with adult & AYA patients in hospitals, medical centers, or via virtual art sessions. Currently works with hospital staff, veterans, and all others facing life-altering illnesses in hospitals, medical centers, and more. Uses art as a means of therapy in order to relax patience, foster a sense of calm and relaxation, sense of accomplishment, human connection, and more; group classes or bedside art; instructor-lead activity with the patient following along, or creates window paintings based on patient’s ideas.
2022: MSAA (Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, non-profit) - Mission Honoree, for work helping to bring the MSAA’s Improving Lives Through Art fundraisers into fruition by teaching and implementing therapeutic art classes for their national MS community.
2022: Hearts Need Art – Led mural design and implementation for a special event at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center psychiatric inpatient courtyard; Designed a mural according to hospital staff requests; coordinated logistics and planning for day-of events and mural preparation; Led and coordinated all volunteer veterans and staff in the painting of the mural. Lead painter for parts that required more skill.
2021 & 2024: MSAA (Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, non-profit) - worked as their first art instructor for their “Improving Lives Through Art” fundraisers, keeping in mind their MS population’s abilities and consulting the organization; Spring 2021 February & April; Fall 2021 September & November; Spring 2024 February & March events
2016-2021: Whimsy Art Studio - painting instructor for ages 4 and up. Occasionally created new works for classroom use
